Support from home (From Donna)
Monday, August 30, 2004
The Tucson "Home" support crew of wife Donna, and biggest fans Megan (8), Thomas (6), and Ellie (4), are gearing up to cheer "Daddy" on in a few weeks.  Sometimes it still seems surreal, then I see the pictures of Jason hanging up in the kids' school, receive a  phone call from the local press, or  find my plane tickets for Athens- and remember that this experience is in fact really happening.  Wow.

We certainly are proud to be part of this feat and the inspiring message we hope it will convey to other families in our situation.  Our goal is to support them in realizing that life and the achievement of goals does not have to stop when a person faces a disability- life is a unique opportunity and a journey for us all.  Some of us simply have to take a different path to our goals, perhaps more rugged terrain with more bumps and curves, but in the end the goal is that much more cherished.  We are  enormously proud of our "Daddy" and miss him so much.
