Delayed Flight; Expect to be home Saturday
Thursday, September 30, 2004

For family expecting our arrival later tonight...will not happen.

We do not know our current departure from here or arrival home.  Mechanical problems with charter plane.  Part being shipped in.  The plane had mechanical problems during flight to us...so was delayed by 5 hours.  Once boarded, we sat on it for over 3 hours before being told to it was mechanically unsafe to fly.  A part is being shipped in.  So...we sat at the airport for 8 hours.  We are now back at the Olympic Village - which is closed.  No services, no athletes.  We just got towels and linens to our rooms.  I found Internet access.

We do not have an estimated departure time from here or a am estimated arrival time home.  I expect we will be home Saturday afternoon or evening.  We will see.  We have no phone access, so will call when we get to Washington DC.  I sent emails for Rupert to contact Donna and her Dad.

Can someone from Washington, please contact Liz or their family so she knows.  She might have to be contacted at her school.  Thanks everyone!

Okay, this gives me time to do more journal entries!  I did our final one last night with Glenn over my shoulder.  Was a great one.  However, the server went down just as I posted it.  So it was all lost.  It was just before we departed...so no time to redo it then.  I will try to do it again here today since we now have time.

I now have the capability to add pictures on journal entries.  So, stay tuned for that today too!  Not too late!  Will be a good conclusion to the trip.  May take me awhile to figure out...but as long as the Internet remains up...I should be okay to get some up for you all!
